Sometimes old is great.

A conversation broke out here at the geeky side of the office, about old Roguelike games. I don’t remember the name of the first ascii based one I played nor even what year I first played one, but it had to be in the mid 80s.  Every few years something will click in my head and I have to get my rogue-fix. One of these very same urges had stuck me earlier this week, so it was coincidence that this topic came up. One of the people I work with brought up a game he claims

“This is better than Rogue by about 100x, and is better than any other rogue-like I’ve played. Hack and NetHack don’t even come within 1% of how good this game is. I’ve been playing for eight years I Still am…”

So this weekend I am going to give Adom a try.

Fabulous Webcomic.

I love the Internet, everyday I stumble upon something I had no plans on finding. Think I started out looking for a site that listed any new command line commands for Windows Server 2008. I found that and in the end I found a web comic that has been around for over 3 years that I had never heard of. At first glance I thought to myself this isn’t one for me, BUT I gave the first few pages a try. 48 hours later I found that I had gone through all three years of the comic and desperately seeking more of the story. It is funny, original, the graphics are some of the best I have seen, and the storyline will just suck you in. GirlGenius.Net I hope you found it as great as I have, this one is now among the top of my weekly visits along with C+A+D and OoTS.
